The TLA congratulates Iskum Investments LP on today’s significant federal investment announcement, and we’re pleased to see continued support for Indigenous leadership in BC’s forest sector. This $1.2 million funding to support a detailed feasibility analysis for a new wood processing facility represents an important step towards creating greater certainty for TLA members by creating opportunities to utilize our fibre, while supporting new opportunities for coastal harvesting contractors and strengthening the long-term sustainability of the coastal forest economy. We commend Iskum and its First Nations partners for their vision and leadership and look forward to continued growth and success of First Nations forestry in British Columbia.
