A successful entrepreneur, with experience in special events, Kathie has built an outstanding reputation for her professionalism and expertise. Immediate Past-President of the International Special Events Society (Vancouver Chapter) 2010-2011 and an active ISES Board Member since 2008, Kathie recently led her team to win the ISES International Award of Excellence in Communications 2010-2011. The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council invited Kathie to provide her expertise as one of 15 global professionals on the International Committee of the Canadian Tourism Human Resources Council IEMS Project drafting occupational standards and a competency framework for event management professionals. These Standards are now in accredited educational institutions world wide.

With several years experience in private, non‐profit, and government sectors, Jennifer is a self‐motivated, confident senior communications professional with extensive experience in public and media relations, internal and external communications, social media, stakeholder management, project management, and strategic communications planning. She is also currently pursuing a Masters in Intercultural and International Communications. Her role focuses on developing communications activities that support membership recruitment and retention initiatives; developing workforce recruitment and retention initiatives for the forestry industry to ensure a sustainable workforce for the future, and developing strong and effective relationships with relevant levels of government stakeholders, First Nations, municipal government and communities.
